Early Childhood Music

Little Mozarts is an Early Childhood Music program that prepares young students for piano lessons.

Skills taught in the course focus on keyboard performance, listening, pitch matching, keyboard technique, singing, rhythm, movement and music appreciation.

(Class openings are seasonal and based on availability.)

KEYBOARD KIDS
(Ages 6yrs. & up)-

Do you own a keyboard but not a piano?  Does your child want to learn how to play? Piano’s and Electronic Keyboards are not the same when it comes to technique.  Learning piano technique on a keyboard will only lead to frustration.  Not to mention they will eventually run out of keys to play with their piano pieces!  This is the perfect class to find out if your child will enjoy learning how to play the keyboard and if they want to advance to the piano.

Piano Instruction

Private Lessons- Private Lessons are held for one hour. The student spends 40 minutes of one-on-one time with the instructor, and 20 minutes in the Keyboard or Music Computer Lab. Private lessons are highly recommended for gifted piano students, intermediate level students, or students with special needs.

Rotating Lessons- Students participate in a one-hour session along with two other students. The students rotate between Learning Stations every 20 minutes. Rotating Lessons include 20 minutes of one-on-one time with the instructor working on repertoire, theory and technic. The student also rotates between 20 minute sessions in the Music Computer Lab, and the Keyboard Lab.

Music Computer and Keyboard Lab - The Music Computer and Keyboard Labs use state-of-the-art music software to provide supplemental training to students in the following areas:

• Composition

• Music and Composer History
• Music Computer Technology
• Music Theory
• Rhythm
• Sight-Reading

Group Lessons-  Group Lessons are held once each month for 1 hour. Group Lessons are a great way for students to interact with each other, learn and grow, and have fun! Each month, Group Lessons have a specific music-related focus. Once month, we might learn about Saint-Saens in Carnival of the Animals, and another month, we could learn about the science of music. Group Lessons tie together the emtire music education experience.

About Jennifer Foxx

Jennifer Foxx is a member of the Arizona State Music Teachers Association, Phoenix Chapter, and the Music Teachers National Association. She is a Past-President of the Tooele Chapter of the Utah Music Teachers Assocation. Jennifer has served in other positions, such as Vice-President for the Tooele Chapter and Chairman of the Tooele Valley Piano Ensemble. She currently servers on the Outreach Committee of the Phoenix Chapter.

Jennifer has experience in speaking and giving presentations to fellow music teachers, sharing with them her teaching ideas and practices. Jennifer attended Rick's College, majoring in Elementary Education, and minoring in Music Education.

Jennifer's personal mission as a teacher is to provide quality music education to each of her students. When students learn from Jennifer, they learn much more than just how to play the piano. Music is history, science, foreign language, math, and art. Jennifer incorporates all those facets of music into her teaching.

Jennifer has over 19 years of music education experience, and is dedicated to the success of each of her students.
